C-MET ' S VISION

C-MET will become a premier R&D organization known all over the world for its knowledge base, innovations and expertise in Electronic Materials.

MISSION

The mission of C-MET   ' To develop knowledge base in electronics materials and their processing technology for Indian industries and to become a source of critical electronics materials, know-how and technical services for the industry and other sectors of    economy '

OBJECTIVIES

Core Objectives:

  • To establish the technology up to pilot scale for a range of electronic materials and transfer the same to industry for commercialization.
     

  • To establish relevant characterization facilities.
     

  • To undertake applied research activities in the area of its operation.
     

  • To establish national data base on Electronics Materials.

 

Other Objectives: 

To undertake research technology development and pilot plant activities on electronic materials leading to new scientific and technological knowledge, new phenomenon materials and applications: production technology for items for import substitution, export promotion and utilization of natural resources: indigenous supply for critical materials in small quantities to laboratories and user industry.

To promote and coordinate at National level the materials science and engineering efforts to meet the present and future requirement of electronics industry through optimum utilization of resources, expertise and infrastructure

To contribute directly or indirectly to the efforts of R&D and production agencies in the country in their achieving state-of-art competence in selected areas of materials for electronics technology.

To assist and help the industry and R&D in their indigenisation efforts in electronic materials by way of providing advice, information, consultancy, technology, marketing another inputs and also providing facilities for manpower training, testing and characterization of materials.

To cause the country to attain technological competence and self-reliance in the field of materials for electronics technology so as to reduce vulnerability in development, design, manufacture and export and to acquire freedom and technology strength for exploitation of natural resources in the country ' s advantage and for choosing better alternative materials to suit Indian conditions.

To Examine and evaluate current science, technology and market trends in materials for electronics and prepare technology and market forecasts as also techno-economic studies on selected areas or items on global basis and for Indian needs.

To set up library of books, periodicals, audio-visual aids; materials data bases on R&D industry, natural resources, commerce etc. on both global as well as national basis enabling the Society to meet its objectives and effectively carry out its activities.

To Disseminate relevant technical and commercial information in the form of papers, reports, books, monographs, journals in the area of materials for electronics technology and organize study programmes lectures, national and international conferences training, programmers as well as exhibitions and similar promotional activities in this area.

To undertake, aid and promote publications of papers, journals, books etc. on science, technology and applications of materials for electronics technology and allied subjects in Indian and foreign languages.

To set up research, design and development laboratories and conduct relevant R&D work up to plant scale production as necessary, and undertake specific projects for system engineering and project engineering, to meet the objectives of the Society.

To develop or acquire and assimilate inputs from indigenous or foreign sources on materials science and engineering capabilities and progressively transfer the relevant knowledge/technology into manufacturing process utilizing resources from within the country and abroad, as necessary.

  • The Powers of all C-MET Functionaries have been delegated under chapter 18 of the Policy Manual and is detailed below:

b.      The duties of major functionaries are as follows:
 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Executive Director

Chief Executive of the society

 

To carryout the business of the society under the direction of Council/committee

 

All staff members shall be under the general control of the ED.

 

He shall submit the Annual Report to GC/GB each year

Duties and Responsibilities of the Directors

The Directors are the Executive heads of the respective laboratories. Accountable for its performance and will function under the overall supervision of the Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities of the Registrar

Non-member Secretary to the GC and member Secretary to EC and will look after the Secretarial Work of the society.

 

In all Matters concerning the society he shall act under the general control and orders of the Executive Director.

 

He shall make all Correspondence relating to the society.

 

Will be in-charge of Administration of the society.

 

Will look after the maintenance of the property and Premises of the society

Duties and Responsibilities of Programme Coordinator

Programme Coordinator would be responsible for coordinating activities of the laboratories.  He shall be associated with technical aspects about the activities such as development contracts, technology transfer, interaction with various agencies, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Administrative Officers

The Administrative Officers shall be in charge of the Personnel, Administrative, Purchase and stores work under the supervision of the Directors of the respective Laboratory. 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Chief/Senior Finance Officer/Finance Officer

The S.F.O shall be responsible for all matters relating to Accounts, Finance, Budgets, Audits and related matters

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Staff Members

Duties and the functions of the other staff members are entrusted by their reporting officers.
