M/s. Binani Zinc Limited, Cochin is a zinc processing industry. It produces lot of 3 N pure Cadmium as a by product of Zinc processing hat needs to be converted into 6 N pure zinc for substantial value addition (more than 10 times).
C-MET has demonstrated and transferred the vacuum distillation technology to M/s. Binani Zinc Limited for this purpose on non-exclusive basis. The technology upto 7N pure Cadmium is generally used for CdZnTe compound semiconductor IR applications.
